Xiaomi Mijia Electronic Thermometer and Hygrometer 3

The Xiaomi Mijia Electronic Thermometer and Hygrometer 3 is an indoor monitor for tracking temperature and humidity in rooms such as bedrooms, living rooms, studies and bathrooms. Its large LCD screen shows environmental readings alongside the time, date, weekday and a comfort-level indicator, making everyday changes easy to check at a glance.

Reading temperature and humidity

The monitor refreshes its temperature and humidity display every 6 seconds. A Swiss Sensirion digital sensor detects temperature changes down to 0.1°C and humidity changes down to 1% RH. The screen can cycle its main display between temperature, humidity and time, while the comfort expression provides a quick indication of the surrounding conditions.

The measurement ranges are 0°C to 60°C for temperature and 0% RH to 99% RH for humidity. Xiaomi states that the monitor is intended to support a healthy lifestyle rather than serve as a professional measuring instrument, and it should not be immersed in water.

Display and placement

The 62.6 x 53.2mm LCD uses a segment display for clear presentation of the readings. The supplied stand allows the monitor to sit on a flat surface, while the wall adhesive supports mounting on a suitable smooth surface. The monitor is not magnetic, so it cannot be attached to a refrigerator or other iron surface using the included materials. When fixing it in place, the stand or adhesive should be pressed for 10 seconds first.

Xiaomi Home connection

Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy provides wireless communication with the Xiaomi Home app. The app can display historical temperature and humidity data, with the monitor storing 3 months of data and cloud storage holding 6 months after linking. A Bluetooth Mesh gateway is required for cloud synchronisation and for automations involving compatible devices such as heaters or humidifiers. The monitor can also trigger scenes based on temperature, humidity or battery level.

Battery and package contents

The monitor uses one pre-installed CR2450 button battery. Xiaomi specifies standby operation for up to approximately 1.5 years when the monitor is not connected to the app; actual performance varies with the environment and usage. The package includes the monitor, stand, wall adhesive, user manual, time synchronisation information card and warranty card.
